How to play Latchkite
Your kite whirls round a peg on its line. Tap anywhere (or press Space) to let go. The kite flies straight along its swing; if it passes through the dashed catch ring of the next peg, the line latches on and it whirls round that peg. Miss and the wind takes it. Hold on too long and the line frays (watch the ring round the peg). Each catch is a point, skipping a peg counts double, and the spin gets faster as you climb.
One course a day
Everyone gets the same pegs each UTC day, so scores are directly comparable. Play as many tries as you like; your best counts. Share your score card and dare friends to beat it. Practice gives a fresh random course every try.
Free, with optional extras
Latchkite is free to play, including the daily course and unlimited practice. Is it fair? The game runs on fixed 60 Hz ticks, so the same tap timing gives the same flight on every phone, and every course is checked by a bot that must clear 40 catches. Does it work offline? Yes, after the first visit; install it from your browser menu or the Add to Home Screen button. Do skins change the game? No, they only change how it looks.
